Palm traps are extremely useful in monitoring & controlling Red palm weevil (Rhincophorus ferrugeneous) and Rhino Beetle (Rhinocerous oryctus) that are a big menace to Coconut, Oil Palm, Date Palm & Areca Nut plantations.
Product Description:Â A palm trap, is a bucket-shaped container covered with a cap. Pheromone dispenser and weevil magnet are hung inside the palm trap by clamping/tying them onto the inner surface of the cap. Holes provided on the cap and around the perimeter of the palm trap nearer the cap serves as entry points for the weevils.

They enter the bucket through these holes, fall into the water placed in the bucket (which can be mixed with a small amount of pesticide or food baits such as jaggery) and get killed. |
